Emily was born in B.C. and grew up on a farm in Alberta after her family moved there when she was three years old. These days, she calls Leduc home, where she is busy raising her own young family. Emily began her career as a volunteer firefighter in 2009, and joined EMS in 2011. She has worked in mostly rural settings, on multiple reserves, and in community care. Emily became a licensed ACP in 2015 and works full-tme for Leduc Fire Services as an ACP/Firefighter and Lead Clinical Educator. She also works on a casual basis for ACAA, operating out of all four bases. Emily loves the camaraderie and team dynamics at ACAA, where she says she has always felt welcome and had willing teachers who allow her to grow in new ways as a practitioner. Emily calls the mountains her happy place as her family is big into the outdoors. They live to hike and camp and are looking forward to their first overnight hiking trip with both kids.
